Saturday 4 October
The Chris McCabe Cup was played on Saturday 4 October as the Old Xaverians Soccer Club triumphed 5-0 over the Mercedes Collegians from Adelaide.
On the pitch, current OXSC players Michael Moorhead and Chris Ketsakidis distinguished themselves with fine performances and OXSC’s John Phillips scored to maintain his record of having scored in all three of these cup games, a fine achievement.
After the game, the presentations were held at the Skinny Dog Hotel and the celebrations continued long into the night. We now look forward to defending the trophy in Adelaide next year. |

Friday 22 August The OXSC best and fairest evening for 2008 was a resounding success with many thanks to Rick Perri for all his hard work. Thanks also to Tony De Bolfo for his role as guest speaker, William Angliss for providing stellar service, Nick Butler for assisting Mr Perri on the night and the presence of sponsors Tony De Luca and David Sowersby. Adrian Ubaldi and Bonfoods also stepped up in providing the raffle prizes on offer. Honours on the evening went to James Lachal, Andrew Lachal, Tim Maher and Peter Gregory for goalscoring whilst there were 6 recipients of the Best Team-Man award - Gianni Bramante, Ryan Fritz, Ennis La Torre, Paul Marazita, Matthew Pessina and Adrian Ubaldi.
